Taylor Photo Exhibit
Twice a year noted photographer
Scott Taylor of Beaufort, NC
conducts Photo Expeditions to Cape
Lookout. Located on South Core
Banks, the Cape Lookout National
Seashore, which includes Shackleford
Banks, provides an unending source
of subject matter for both the
novice and the more experienced
photographer. On Saturday, January
19, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. the
Opening Reception for Taylor’s
exhibit “Images from the North
Carolina Maritime Museum’s Cape
Lookout Photo Expeditions” will be
held at the N.C. Maritime Museum.
Tickets for the reception are
available at the Museum Store for $5
for members of the Friends and $10
for non-members.
Proceeds from the sale of these 35
photographs on exhibit will benefit
the museum and the Cape Lookout
Studies Program. Friends of the
Museum sponsorship help to support
many of the museum’s educational
programs including the Cape Lookout
Photo Expeditions. Under the
direction of coordinator, Keith
Rittmaster, the Cape Lookout Studies
Program offers many educational
opportunities for students and
families at the field station at the
Cape Lookout National Seashore.
Scott Taylor’s images of the people
and places of coastal North Carolina
can be seen in regional and national
magazines, publications and
galleries including “Coast Watch,”
“North Carolina Boating Lifestyle,”
“Our State,” and “Wildlife in North
Carolina” magazines. Along with his
editorial pursuits Taylor has
authored and coauthored a number of
books including a coffee table book
“Coastal Waters – Images of North
Carolina” now in its second
printing, “Song of an Unsung Place”
with Bill Mansfield and “The Wild
Horses of Shackleford Banks” with
Carmine Prioli. He currently
operates Scott Taylor Photography,
Inc. in Beaufort, NC.
